Waterloo Dance Project/The Registry Theatre dance series has taken an innovative approach to removing some of the barriers to watching contemporary dance. Performances are ‘pay as you leave for the value you received’ unless you wish to buy a subscription and select your seat in advance.
The 2010/2011 season consisted of dance on the street as well as at The Registry Theatre. In June 2010 Corpus performed les Moutons at Speakers’ Corner in Kitchener – stopping traffic and confusing passerbys. September 17th, Company Blonde also took to the streets opening our eyes to the joy of dance as well as its possibility for impromptu fun. This approach was continued in fall of 2011 with Corpus returning to Kitchener City Hall with their newest production – Machina Nuptialis, an interactive celebration of a timeless ritual – the wedding.
There are great deals available for those who want to guarantee their seats. Call 519.579.8564 for seat selection or email cheryl@cherylaewing.ca to select your seats.
